MWF Professional for Revit. This comprehensive Metal and wood framing Revit extension is a significant enhancement of the original and popular MWF Standard version first released in 2008.

Among its many new features and capabilities MWF professional 2012 includes the following:

New Drawing Production Engine

The new drawing production engine improves workflow and wall cleanup efficiency. Users can now define whole drawing templates, including number of views as well as scale and location on the drawing.  Dimensioning styles can be defined by section, and users can insert data in tabular format, such as a table of materials. Once a template is created, users can apply the template to many walls at once by highlighting the walls in the model.  The new Drawing production engine will have a significant impact on the drawing production process in terms of both speed and quality control, and consistency.

Floor clash detection and opening creator

This new functionality extends the existing clash detection capability in MWF to cover Floors as well as walls. MWF 2012 performs automatic verification of clashes between any number of walls and Floors against any combination of MEP objects, structural members as well as generic Revit families. This unique features also has the capability to resolve clashes by automatically creating openings where required, and framing the opening (walls only) all based on user defined rules. Another significant feature of this clash engine is that it checks across linked models.

Fire stop opening report

Stores critical information concerning supporting wall/Floor as well as penetrant geometry in the opening objects. This is done as the opening is being created in MWF by the clash engine. This also includes a sophisticated query generator and report builder specifically for fire stop purposes to make it easier to specify and order UL assemblies. For example, users can query how many situations where a certain penetrant is used in a certain type of wall, such as a 6” galvanized pipe penetrating a fire-rated gypsum wall.

Design on-the-fly within Revit Structure: new bi-directional interface with WoodWorks sizer, allows Revit users to design any wood member without leaving the Revit Structural environment

Wall frame to wall frame joint creation interface.

Allows the user to define the framing at the intersection point of multiple walls and then automatically apply the same framing joint definition everywhere the same conditions apply

MEP clash detection with automatic opening and framing creation
