ProSteel 3D bi-directional seamless interface with Structural Analysis Software
Why model a structure over and over again?
Instead, take an analysis model and read it straight into ProSteel 3D, or vice versa , and save yourself a lot of time, accuracy and modification management.
StrucSoft announces the release of it’s unique seamless bi-directional integration with several leading structural analysis softwares:
ProSteel 3D uses proprietary technology that provides the user with an unmatched capability of exchanging data back and forth iteratively between the CAD model and the analytical model without the loss of data typically incurred in such communication. This means that the analytical model will retain the loading, support and restraint information while the CAD model will retain the member justification, orientation, cut back, notching and coping information.

- The StrucLink exchange mechanism can be initiated either from ProSteel 3D or the Analysis Program.
- Integrity of analytical data and CAD data is maintained even after multiple transfers.
- Only necessary information required by the other program is written to the exchange file to keep its size small.
- Exchanges between ProSteel 3D and the Analysis Program can be done if both are installed on the same machine or on different machines, ie: via any LAN or WAN.
- Top of steel is maintained for drafting purposes, even if the Analysis Program changes the depth of the section.
- Node connectivity for the Analysis Program is established by using the 'Effective Analysis Lines' approach in Prosteel 3D.
- The functionality to join all the Effective Analysis Lines of a joint at a common point is an integral part of StrucLink.
- A structure imported into the Analysis Program can be analysed after introducing boundary conditions and defining loads.
In the transfer of a structure from Analysis to ProSteel 3D and back to Analysis, all the boundary conditions and loading defined earlier will be maintained, even if member size, location or length is changed in ProSteel 3D.
This unique bi-directional link will keep the integrity of the data pertinent to both Analysis as well as ProSteel 3D regardless of the number of iterations between both programs.
Providing a horizontal solution between CAD and Analysis is the cost effective and smart way to work with 3D.
